Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting in which an officer killed a victim of a home invasion who had called 911 for help.

43-year-old Brandon Durham was shot and killed after police found him struggling with an accused home invader armed with a knife. Police identified the officer as 26-year-old Alexander Bookman. He’s served with Metro for about three years and is now on routine administrative leave while the shooting is under investigation.

The LVMPD reported on an officer-involved shooting where officers responded to gunfire at a home, resulting in one fatality and subsequent charges against a suspect.

“I’m disgusted in the Metropolitan Police,” Isabella Durham,15, Durham’s daughter said while addressing the media on Thursday. “The fact that they wrongfully shot my dad and then tried to spin the narrative to cover them, saying that there were gunshots there, that he had a knife, none of that is true.”
