The Hawks reassigned Korchinski to Rockford of the AHL on Sunday after nine encouraging NHL appearances. He didn't have a point offensively, but he showed how much stronger and smarter he has become defensively.

Korchinski will resume his season with the Rockford IceHogs after playing in nine games with the Blackhawks and failing to record a point. He has been skating on the third pairing and is a -5 in those games.

Connor Bedard scored a goal and Arvid Soderblom made 28 saves for the Blackhawks (12-23-2), who have lost four in a row. Bedard gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead on the power play at 12:20 of the first period when his shot from the left circle deflected in off the stick of Stars forward Sam Steel.

Matt Duchene and Jamie Benn each had a goal and two assists to lead six players with multi-point nights and Jake Oettinger made 24 saves to lift the visiting Dallas Stars to a 5-1 rout of the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.
