The results of the survey come after a difficult few weeks for Putin who has been humiliated by Ukrainian forces staging a series of daring attacks on targets inside Russia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia possesses weapons "that will have serious implications for the handlers of the Ukrainian regime."

The Foreign Secretary said the Russian tyrant "tends to throw dust" into the eyes of his opponents to deter them from supporting Kyiv.

"Vladimir Putin must not be allowed to win this war in Ukraine. More than that, he must not be allowed to have a face-saving exit from this war," Russian opposition figure Vladimir Kara-Murza said at a press conference in London.

A recent poll found that 49 percent of people would back withdrawing without achieving the Kremlin's military objectives.

A close ally of President Vladimir Putin warned Western governments on Thursday that a nuclear war would ensue if they gave the green light for Ukraine to use long-range Western weapons to strike targets deep inside Russia.
