National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecasters at the Climate Prediction Center predicted an above-normal hurricane season for 2024 which runs from June 1 to November 30 of every year.With about two months to go until the end of the season,

Gov. Ron DeSantis will hold a news conference Tuesday to address a soon-to-be tropical storm. The next named storm will be Helene and it’s expected to impact Florida in the coming days. DeSantis declared a state of emergency on Monday for most of Florida’s counties.

This system is forecast to become a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico before making landfall along the Florida Panhandle.

Governor Ron DeSantis held a news conference in Tallahassee to discuss storm preparations on Tuesday as Potential Tropical Cyclone 9 moves toward Florida. The forecast currently has PTC 9 getting up to a Category 3 hurricane as it approaches landfall by Thursday in the Big Bend of Florida.
