Indian equity benchmark indices BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened in the red on Tuesday, as markets took a breather while searching for fresh cues.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 25,990 level, a premium of nearly 75 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

On Monday, Indian stock indices BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 also reached new record levels. The Sensex rose by 384 points, or 0.45%, to end the day at 84,928.61, after hitting a record high of 84,980 during trading.
