NIA is yet to officially register any case to look into suspected sabotage incidents on the railway tracks but they are “informally” looking into it.

Notably, the NIA is a Central Counter-Terrorism Law Enforcement Agency in India. The involvement of NIA in train sabotage attempts shows that the Railways is also exploring terror angle. Speaking to the media in Jaipur on Tuesday (24 September), Vaishnaw emphasised that the railway administration is on high alert and taking these threats seriously.

Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday said the railway administration is on alert for potential train sabotage bids and is holding talks with the administration and police in several states to prevent any untoward incident.
