The Indian women's team will look to end the hoodoo of not winning a senior World Cup when Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. will step onto the cricketing field in UAE. The World Cup starts on October 3 with India set to take on New Zealand in their first match on October 4.

India women's cricket team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur and supported by deputy Smriti Mandhana, will play two warm-up matches before launching their tournament campaign.

The squad will be led by skipper Suryakumar Yadav, with other senior players like Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh also available for the series

India finished runners-up once and reached the semifinals twice in the last editions of the Women's T20 World Cup.

The warm-up matches ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup are being played in Dubai and in the opening game, Scotland stunned Pakistan. In the other encounter of the day, Sri Lanka breezed past Bangladesh even as India face former T20 champions West Indies today.
