TORONTO — No team in the NHL scored more five-on-five goals than the Maple Leafs last season. In fact, no team over the previous four seasons scored more five-on-five goals than the Leafs. They had 25 goals more than the next closest team ( Colorado) and 42 more than the team after that ( Florida ).

TORONTO -- Linus Ullmark made 26 saves for the Ottawa Senators in a 3-0 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday. The shutout was Ullmark's ninth in the NHL and his first since being acquired from the Boston Bruins on June 24.

BOTTOM LINE: The Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Ottawa Senators with a three win streak intact. Toronto has a 9-5-2 record overall and a 4-1-1 record in Atlantic Division games. The Maple Leafs have gone 9-0-1 when scoring three or more goals.

Linus Ullmark got his first shutout as a Senator but the story of the night was Ottawa putting together its most complete 60 minute effort in a long time.

Those emotions quickly melted away for the Maple Leafs head coach. Berube did what he could behind the bench — including putting his sluggish lines in a blender — but nothing stuck in Toronto’s ugly 3-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

The Ottawa Senators turned the Battle of Ontario into little more than a squabble on Tuesday night. The Maple Leafs didn’t have much fight, or anything else for that matter, as the Sens easily won 3-0 at Scotiabank Arena.
